It all begins, way back in the before times... Well maybe, the 1970s. A new category of Rock music emerged out of the independent and underground scenes of the period. However, Alt music really came into its own during Gen X’s heyday, a far less sophisticated time, before the world was forever online. Life was good, and the music was excellent. Legendary rock bands like Green Day, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Third Eye Blind and Red Hot Chili Peppers seemed unstoppable. Hip-Hop legends Wu-Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes and Ice Cube blew up; singer-songwriters Madonna, Alanis Morissette and Sarah McLachlan cemented their reputations as genre-defining superstars. Now, nearly many years after the turning of the twenty-first century, most of those classic 90s bands are still giving astounding shows, but they are now joined by a new breed of Alt musician...
